Hi, Iā€™m Chef Hightower.

Jamell Hightower is the proud owner of "Hightowers Catering", established in 2018. He is primarily a self-taught chef, but he was able to complete some formal training while at St. John Hospital through their program. When asked what inspired him to cook, he stated " My grandmother, Mary Brown, allowed me to cook and I have been cooking ever since." Chef Hightower's principles are rooted in purpose, passion, and patience. His slogan, which he has branded into a clothing line is, "Good Food equals Good Mood".

Once the pandemic hit Chef Hightower began to fall more in love with cooking, and realized it to be his passion and purpose. As a result, he has reached new heights in his business and connected with more like-minded people, which he enjoys. Since the pandemic he has been able to pursue his passion full time, and feed hundreds of people in the metro Detroit area.

Chef Hightower cooks a variety of dishes such as American, soul food, and seafood dishes. His signature dishes include salmon bites, fried corn, and everyone's favorite "Pineapple Delight", which is a Caribbean-inspired dish.

Chef Hightower is an ambassador for Ellington Event Center, where the owners, and their clients, rave about his food. One client, Desiree Marion, said "he always comes up with dishes that are personal and unique to the event I am hosting. I have used his services for my daughter's birthday parties, my birthday, and have referred him to all of my family."

Chef Hightower is also a strong advocate for his community. Some of his biggest highlights include donating food to the essential workers during the covid-19 pandemic, specifically Sinai Grace, Beaumont Grosse Pointe Hospital, and the Detroit Police Department. He is a firm believer in giving back to his community, and the youth in Detroit.

In his spare time, you can catch him reading a good book or running on a track.
